Due to the specifics of the country of accreditation, citizens enter the Vatican from Italy in accordance with European Union law. The Vatican has adopted a policy of free movement of citizens among the Schengen area and does not apply border controls to the Italian Republic. Therefore, the visa-free regime for entry of citizens of Ukraine, holders of biometric passports also applies to the Vatican. However, it should be noted that the Vatican has a certain restricted procedure that is not related to the visa component.
