Popular internet speed testing site Ookla analyzed average mobile internet and broadband speeds in 200 cities in 179 countries for March 2023 to determine the world’s fastest internet cities. The ranking took into account upload and download speeds for both mobile and broadband networks, Travel Off Path writes.

- Ar Rayyan, Qatar (average download speed in March 2023 was 223.87 Mbps).
- Dubai, UAE (210.70 Mbps).
- Copenhagen, Denmark (198.92 Mbps).
- Abu Dhabi, UAE (179.63 Mbps).
- Oslo, Norway (177.06 Mbps).
Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Doha (Qatar), Beijing (China), Shanghai (China), and Stockholm (Sweden) also made it to the top 10 cities with the fastest Wi-Fi.

- Beijing, China (March 2023 average download speed was 264.92 Mbps).
- Abu Dhabi, UAE (261.97 Mbps).
- Shanghai, China (232.08 Mbps).
- Bangkok, Thailand (224.67 Mbps).
- New York, USA (224.41 Mbps).
Lyon (France), Valparaiso (Chile), Copenhagen (Denmark), Bucharest (Romania), and Los Angeles (USA) also made it to the top 10 cities with the fastest fixed broadband.
