In two months, the region’s largest theme park dedicated to marine life, Sea World Abu Dhabi, will open in the UAE. One of its “chips” will be the largest multi-species aquarium in the world. We tell you what else the new tourist attraction will surprise tourists with and how much tickets cost.
Sea World Abu Dhabi to open May 23rd
Abu Dhabi has announced the opening date of the theme park Sea World Abu Dhabi, dedicated to marine life. A new unique facility, which has no analogs in the world and is located on Yas Island, will open its doors on May 23rd.
Sea World will contain more than 58 million liters of water and will be home to more than 100,000 marine animals, including 150 species of marine animals, sharks, fish, rays, sea turtles, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates, as well as birds.
8 thematic zones: from the Arctic to Antarctica
Visitors are waiting for 8 thematic immersive zones (“worlds”), which are positioned as “dynamic habitats”: representatives of flora and fauna live in them in conditions as close as possible to natural ones.
The “worlds” that mimic natural habitats have been designed using innovative technologies and the highest standards of animal welfare. For example, experts have created “seasonal patterns” for animals such as walruses and penguins.
Everything is thought out to the smallest detail: the lighting system for animals regulates the change of day and night and seasonal light cycles. The animal life support system manages water quality to keep the variety of fish and mammals living together in huge aquariums.
The Abu Dhabi Ocean-themed area will allow guests to get up close to the animals that live off the coast of the Persian Gulf, and learn more about the historical traditions of navigation in the UAE, and the extraction and trade of pearls.
In the zone of the Polar Ocean, tourists will be met by the icy expanses of Antarctica and the tundra of the Arctic. Everything will be almost real: in this section, it will be cold and snowy. Special design and temperature conditions mimic the natural conditions in the polar regions, where penguins and walruses thrive. Accordingly, it will be possible to see both the first and the second.
The tropical ocean zone will be the largest in Sea World Abu Dhabi. It will be very exotic here: they promise dancing waterfalls, a crystal clear lagoon, dolphins, flamingos, and tropical birds.
Well, in the zone “Endless Ocean” will place the world’s largest aquarium of 25 million liters, stylized as a sea cave. More than 68,000 animals will live here, including sharks, rays, eels, and many others.
There will also be entertainment. Sea World will host more than 35 interactive performances and attractions. It offers 17 restaurants and 13 retail outlets.
