By 2025, the first “vertical” airports for flying taxis — vertiports — will appear in Dubai and Abu Dhabi (UAE).
The construction of the flying taxis will be carried out by the American manufacturer of air electric vehicles Archer in collaboration with air services operator Falcon Aviation.
Archer’s Midnight Air Taxi, a manned four-seat electric aircraft designed for fast flights, will operate between the vertiports of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Flying taxis promise to make it a safe and not too noisy transport, and the cost of flying in them will be affordable.
The UAE expects that thanks to the advent of flying taxis, travel times will be significantly reduced: instead of 60–90 minutes by car, it will be possible to travel in 10–30 minutes by electric air taxi.
