Sharjah’s largest safari park outside of Africa reopens

On September 21, 2022, the largest safari park outside of Africa in the city of Al-David opens for the new season. Sharjah Safari Park is located on the territory of the Al Bridi Nature Reserve and covers an area of over 8 square kilometers. The park has more than 50,000 inhabitants of more than 120 species brought from South Africa and zoos in Europe. Visitors can observe endangered animals and see more than 100 African trees.

The park features 12 different habitats replicating African ones – savannah, jungle, equatorial forests, desert, and others. From September 21, visitors will be able to visit a new area that mimics the Kalahari desert. This arid territory runs through three African countries and is located between the savannah in the northeast and Namibia in the west of the continent. Antelopes, gazelles, and several species of birds live here.
