Wildfires flare up again in Turkey

According to Turkish media, the Turkish authorities are sounding the alarm – in the province of Antalya, the first forest fires of this season have begun to flare up again.

Now in Antalya there is already a typical summer heat with wind, the air temperature reaches +37°C, and the rescuers are afraid of a repeat of last year’s situation. The first fires of this season broke out in the mountainous area, in the Gundogmush region. To fight the fire, employees of the Forestry Department firefighters from Antalya and nearby areas went to the area. Firefighting work continues.

Recall that last summer Turkey was badly damaged by natural fires: forests, farmland, several hotels burned, and tourists had to be evacuated. In total, 133 fires were recorded, while in previous years no more than 43 fires were put out on the coast of the country during the summer.
