Not so long ago, British travel agencies have a new direction – energy tourism. Read more about this phenomenon and its prospects in the material “DIP“.
Over the past six months, electricity prices in European countries and the UK have risen sharply, which has seriously hit the wallets of local residents. At the same time, gas market analysts say that prices will remain high for the next two or more years.
As Ashley Quint, author of energy tours, notes, the idea to create such adventures appeared after the news that by April 2023 the price of electricity in the UK could rise to 7 thousand pounds a year.
While some complain about the increased spending, others are trying to find some benefit in the current situation and are building a business by offering the British to spend the winter outside the UK. Travel agencies offer travelers to try energy tourism. Namely, go on vacation to warm countries in winter to avoid high energy bills.
For wintering, cruise tours are especially in demand, as well as holidays in Malta, southern Spain and Portugal. By UK standards, prices in these countries for food, accommodation and entertainment are very average, while the weather is pleasant and warm. For example, in Madeira, even in December, the temperature can stay at 19-20 degrees Celsius, while in London the maximum air temperature at this time is 9 degrees.
According to experts, even before the increase in prices, winter adventures were in great demand among the British. Experts are confident that energy tourism will also be in high demand.
