Two people were injured in a single-engine plane crash at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (Georgia, USA), reports 11alive.com.
According to the county fire department, a child and an adult were injured when a single-engine plane crashed while taking off from the airport.
Both were reportedly on the plane but were not seriously injured in the crash on 16 February. All passengers were taken to the hospital for examination.
A Piper PA-28 single-engine aircraft was on a training flight. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the incident occurred after takeoff at about 2:40 p.m.
“He completely lost power, turned around to try to make an emergency landing,” pilot and eyewitness Ryan Sullivan comments on what happened. “He landed right on the runway. It’s very difficult to do.”
The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate and provide an update, and footage of the plane crash has surfaced on social media.
“Video of the plane crash landing shortly after takeoff at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in Atlanta. Two people on board suffered moderate injuries,” the author of the post says on Twitter.

DeKalb-Peachtree Airport is the second busiest airport in Atlanta after the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson International.
