From June, Venice will introduce pre-booking of one-day tourist visits for city visitors, Il Globo reports. And from the beginning of 2023, those wishing to visit Venice will have to buy tickets for entry.
So, to regulate the flow of tourists from June 2022, a system of advance booking of visits will be introduced in the city. It will be tested for six months, during which time entry into the city will remain free for tourists.
If the administration of Venice recognizes the experiment as successful, from January 2023 entry will become paid. The amount of the fee will depend on the number of tourists wishing to visit the city on the same day.
