In the first case, a 21-year-old surfer became a victim of a shark. After meeting with the predator, the guy received a serious leg injury and was hospitalized.
The second vacationer who was not lucky enough to meet a shark in the water was a 48-year-old man swimming in the water near the shore. He suffered minor back injuries and refused hospitalization.
It is reported that sharks have attacked people on the beaches of the US state three times since the beginning of the year. All cases were without death or serious injury.
Specialists reminded vacationers that aquatic predators attack people out of “curiosity”, often confusing them with animals from their diet, such as fur seals. Therefore, experts advise not to swim alone, try to stay in the water of other swimmers and not “flounder” when you see a fin in the water, thereby attracting the shark’s attention to yourself.
