A low-cost Ryanair flight from Malta to London turned into a “fighting arena” when two passengers, a British and an American, came into conflict with the use of physical assault. The fight reportedly started after one passenger refused to let the other pass to the window seat, leading to “a heated exchange of foul language and punches”.
Passenger Neil Modvadia, who managed to capture the incident on video, gave details of the quarrel. The American passenger, seated on the left, took the window seat, while the capped British passenger took the aisle seat. According to an eyewitness, the Briton did not allow the American to reach his seat, which caused a “confrontation”. It is worth noting that the enthusiastic expression on the face of the author of the video, who captured himself on a selfie camera in the middle of the video, amused netizens.
When the situation escalated and began to get out of control, flight attendants and fellow travelers quickly intervened in the conflict, managing to separate the scolding. As a result of an unplanned incident, the flight was delayed for two hours, the source said.
Representatives from Ryanair released a statement describing the incident, saying “two passengers of the flight violated the order before takeoff, but the flight attendants managed to successfully defuse the situation.”
Users in the comments condemn both participants in the fight for “barbaric behavior”, and someone sarcastically asked if watching this spectacle is “a new kind of entertainment on board” for low-cost airline passengers.
