The famous Eiffel Tower, a well-known symbol of Paris and French culture, became a place to spend the night for two drunk foreign tourists. However, early last Monday morning, instead of coffee and croissants, they were greeted by a “friendly” welcome from local security guards.
When the dawn had already broken over the horizon, as the Sky News portal specified, the guards made a tour of the landmark. However, a surprise awaited them between the second and third floors — drunken American tourists enjoying their sleep in the arms of the iron structure.
According to the tower operator, this sector is usually closed to the public and is only available for special tours. Later it turned out that drunken tourists bought tickets for the entrance around 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, then got lost, climbed over the fences and were unable to leave.
Security staff called firefighters, including the Ministry of Emergency Situations, to remove the guests from the tower and take them to the police station for questioning. Now the local authorities are conducting an investigation to find out the circumstances of the incident and determine whether it is possible to impose any sanctions on the tourists or whether it is better to attribute the violation to heavy alcohol intoxication, since the visitors did not cause any harm. It was clarified that a criminal case may be initiated against them.
