Turkey is preparing to introduce anti-covid restrictions

Turkey is preparing to introduce anti-covid restrictions: the country may return to the mask regime in closed public spaces and other anti-covid measures. The reason is the sharp increase in morbidity in the country. It is still unclear whether the measure will affect tourists. Processing of public opinion before the introduction of such measures has already begun. Tourists will not like it very much.

“The mask regime should be introduced again in closed spaces and in public transport,” Kavat Isik Yavuz, a specialist in public health, told the Turkish media. According to him, the voluntary mode of wearing masks “cannot prevent the pandemic. “When the person in front of you is not wearing a face mask, the protection of your mask also decreases, but I still recommend everyone to wear masks in closed and crowded spaces,” the expert repeated the common rule. He also stated that the new sub-variants BA.4 and BA.5, which are much more contagious due to the lack of public health measures, continue to spread.

As a result, covid threatens people from the risk zone – yes, in the case of cases of people over 65 years old in Europe, it increased by 32%. “It’s not time to soften the position, it’s time to take measures,” the doctor added. That is, all statements memorable at the beginning of the covid are being heard again in Turkey, which means that anti-covid measures can return at any moment.

At the same time, from July 25 to August 5, 406,000 cases of covid were recorded in Turkey. Over the past two weeks, the number of patients has increased 16 times.
