In order not to sit in airports waiting for a flight, not to spend time on planes, and not to give up traveling, American Austin Wells found the perfect way out – traveling without leaving home, reports DIP concerning the New York Post.
Austin Wells is 28 and works remotely at Meta. The guy loves to travel but hates long flights and the rejection of everyday activities. To get both, the American rented a cabin on a cruise ship under construction for 12 years to constantly travel the world.
The man paid $300,000 for 12 years of renting a 22-square-meter studio on the ocean liner MV Narrative.
“I’m moving away from this model that when you want to go somewhere you have to pack bags, fly planes, rent accommodation … Now my apartment, gym, favorite grocery stores, and even doctors travel the world with me,” Wells explained.
On a cruise ship, in addition to more standard amenities, guests can enjoy private kitchens, co-working spaces, a farmer’s market, medical services, and 24-hour room service.
