This year, those arriving from Ukraine to Greece can enter the country through border checkpoints “by any means and on any vehicle.” The rule went into effect on February 7th.
Travelers will need a negative PCR test done no earlier than 72 hours prior to arrival in Greece, or a COVID-19 antigen test done 24 hours or less. In addition, you must have a completed electronic form PLF (Passenger Locator Form) with you.
The updated rules apply to those arriving by land from neighboring countries, or by sea – for example, by ferry or on yachts. Of course, the vast majority of tourists enter Greece by air. The Greek embassy reminds such travelers that after crossing the border it will be necessary to pass a PCR test or pass a rapid antigen test. This also applies to children aged 5 and over.
In the case of a positive test for covid, the tourist must self-isolate on arrival at the “place of temporary residence indicated by the competent Greek authorities.” After 5 days and the absence of symptoms of the disease and fever, the observation ends – nothing is said about the need to pass a control test, from which we can conclude that it will not be required.
