Turkish tour operators reported to the media that they were flooded with complaints: tourists began to write complaints en masse about the indecency that is happening in Antalya on the roads. They resent the fact that the transfer from the airport to the hotels takes longer due to traffic jams than it took them to get to Turkey by plane.
According to the Turkish publication Turizm Guncel, the flight of tourists from Europe to Antalya takes an average of 3.5-4 hours. At the same time, the transfer from the airport to almost all iconic hotels now takes at least 5 hours. The biggest traffic jams are on the road to the hotels of Manavgat, Side, Alanya, and Gazipasa, because there is only one road option to these resorts, and the crazy traffic starts literally from the airport.
“Tourists who said that they spent the whole day on the road due to traffic jams, turn to travel agencies with a demand to compensate for the loss of a rest day. As a result, the image of Antalya in the eyes of tourists is spoiled due to the traffic jam, and travel agencies are forced to bear financial and reputational costs,” – complain the representatives of the tourism sector.
