Iceland’s main airport, Keflavik, has introduced a unique way of boarding passengers by combining a teleport and a bus.
As Avianews reports, Reykjavík Airport has installed four telegraphs with galleries in remote parking lots that are not connected to the terminal. This decision was made to reduce the time passengers spend in the open space.
As noted at the airport, in the harsh climate of Iceland, boarding a plane using only a bus is quite difficult for passengers. The fact is that they first need to go out into the open space to get on the bus, drive a few hundred meters and go out into the open space again to get to the plane cabin.
Now, after arriving at the plane, passengers get off the bus to a special heated gallery, and then in comfortable conditions pass through the telegraph to the plane.
