Qatar has once again allowed tourists who do not have tickets for the World Cup matches to enter the country. This was reported by the press service of the organizing committee of the tournament.
Nevertheless, there is no talk yet about the return of the usual mode of receiving foreign guests in the country. In Qatar, they are ready to let tourists in only if several conditions are met.
In particular, travelers need to apply for a Hayya card. The cost of such a document is 500 rials, but for children under 12 years old – free of charge. In addition, you need to present a reservation at one of the local hotels.
Note that Hayya cardholders will be able to stay in Qatar until January 23. They don’t have to fill out any additional paperwork. Also, the certificate gives the right to free travel by public transport in the country.
Recall that before the start of the World Cup, Qatar changed the rules of entry. Since November, only those tourists who have purchased tickets for at least one of the matches have been allowed to cross the border. However, after conducting group tests, the authorities decided to introduce some concessions.
Among other restrictions is a ban on the consumption of alcohol in stadiums. This measure caused a lot of controversies and became one of the main claims of tourists and fans to the organizing committee.
