A woman in India saved the life of her husband in the fight against a crocodile: the predator attacked the shepherd but met with unexpected resistance and was forced to retreat.
According to the India Times, 26-year-old Bann Singh escaped with a “light fright” after encountering a dangerous predator.
“A reptile ambushed a shepherd in India as he was fording a river to get water for his goats. The predator grabbed the man by the leg and began to drag him under the water. His wife Vimal Bai, who was standing nearby, reacted immediately.
She hit the crocodile with a stick, freeing her husband’s leg from the tenacious alligator teeth. But this did not stop the aggressor, because he continued his attack, clearly intending to finish the job. Then the woman stuck a stick right into the crocodile’s eye,” the publication colorfully describes the dramatic fight.
The source adds that the woman’s struggle with the predator lasted at least 15 minutes before the wounded Singh was finally released from a tight grip and the couple was able to return to safety.
The rescued man expressed gratitude to his wife and stated that “her courage was the best gift he could ever receive.” The rescued man added that it was her courage and ingenuity that gave him strength during a deadly fight.
The heroine herself, in an interview with reporters, claims that her husband’s life is the most important thing in the world for her and that she would not hesitate to sacrifice her own for his salvation.
“I only thought about saving my husband’s life and did not think about myself,” the heroine of the video clip posted on Twitter modestly shares her motivation.
A video with the revelations of a selfless woman instantly scattered across the social media segment in India. One of the first to publish it was the journalist Dainik Bhaskar.
“Listen to how bravely Vimal saved her husband from the jaws of a crocodile. The government should reward her,” he wrote.
Social media users praised the fearless woman, and some joked that “the woman did not agree with her husband and did not give him to a predator.”
Others agreed that she deserved honor and recognition for her brave act.
“No matter what government is in power, such a brave woman should be honored. I believe that a respected prime minister or head of state should talk to this woman via video link,” the commentator wrote.
“She should be awarded a state award for her valor,” agreed another.
“You are blessed. Rajasthan is truly a land of heroes and heroines, and this brave woman Vimal Bai is proof of this,” an enthusiastic user praised the girl’s act.
However, some bloggers felt that there was nothing supernatural in her act and that any person should have done so, saving their loved ones.
“Her bravery is commendable. But it’s natural: to save the life of your husband/family, everyone would do it. Now, if life is at stake to save a stranger, then both courage and respect are justified. We all live in a society,” the user argues on Twitter.
“You won’t know until you check. I hope my wife would do the same,” the commentator summed up the discussion.
