The storm hit the coast of this Spanish autonomous community last night with strong winds and downpours that intensified this morning.
At least 9 flights to Valencia were diverted to Alicante, Barcelona, Ibiza, and Madrid airports, airport authorities said.
The storm also affected rail transport in the Valencia area, the company ADIF, which manages Spain’s railway network, said, as well as several metro lines, the BTA agency reported, citing city authorities.
