Terrible consequences in the form of deprivation of two-thirds of “their” and hair extensions on her head had to go through a German tourist after an unsuccessful dive into the sea off the coast of Croatia. The beauty victim, with tears in her eyes, cut off her hair after several hours of unsuccessful detangling and left only 2 centimeters in length in some sections.
Julie Fest, 23, got hair extensions in Germany and soon went on vacation to Croatia with her boyfriend, according to the Daily Star.
One day they decided to go snorkelling. The girl prudently braided her hair, however, as it turned out later, due to salt water and intense movement, her curls got tangled so that after drying, a huge tangle remained on her head. The blonde was horrified to find her natural hair matted with extensions “to an alarming degree”.
“I panicked, and no matter how I tried to untangle them, it only got worse. For more than eight hours, three people tried to help me, but I had to cut off the extended strands,” she complained. After many hours of trying to correct the situation, the German gave up.
She had to tear her hair mercilessly and eventually cut off two-thirds of “her” strands. In some places, the girl was practically bald. She shared her sad experience on her TikTok account. The video instantly went viral, gaining more than two million views and thousands of likes.
“I cried a lot. The vacation is over for me. I have naturally very thin and brittle hair, which by itself will never grow long. When I was little, I dreamed of long and voluminous hair. This dream came true with extensions. Extensions also boosted my self-confidence a lot.I shared the video because i was desperate.During my hair extension disaster,i searched the internet for similar situations to figure out what to do.but i couldn’t find it,so my video is now on tiktok” she said.
Users were shocked by the girl’s story, they could not believe that swimming could have such an effect on hair.
“I have been doing hair extensions for 15 years, my clients go on vacation with hair extensions and never come back in this form,” the hair stylist left such a comment.
“I usually put on a hair mask and dampen my hair with clean water so it doesn’t soak up so much salt water,” advised another.
However, other commentators noted that it is categorically impossible for tourists who have gone through the procedure of building up poor quality to swim in the sea.
