But the story of an Indian from the city of Mumbai turns this stereotype upside down. His income is higher than the average salary in Ukraine, and he is the world’s richest professional beggar – the beggar’s fortune is estimated at $900,000 (over UAH 33.2 million).
Economic portal Economic Times drew attention to an unusual person who is considered the richest beggar in the world. Despite his secure financial position, Jain looks very humble and continues to beg on the busy streets of Mumbai.
It is known that he has two sons – he successfully provides for all of them, including his wife, brother, and father. Bharat Jain and his family live in a split-level apartment in a posh area of Mumbai. As you can see, they manage to live quite comfortably thanks to the generosity of compatriots and tourists.
How can the profession of a beggar provide such luxury?
The Indian does not have a high school diploma. As a child, he was forced to leave her due to financial difficulties. But it was in begging that he found his success. Over the years, he managed to accumulate a huge fortune, which is now estimated at $900,000. Not bad.
Jain’s income, which he earns by begging passers-by, varies from $730 to $900,000 depending on the circumstances. In addition, he has two retail grocery stores in Thane, each of which brings him a decent monthly income. He also owns a convenience store in a small town just 20 kilometers from Mumbai.
Although his relatives keep persuading him to quit begging and do something else, he continues to work in his unusual profession. Perhaps in this unique case, begging became not only a source of income but also a way of life for a man who seems to have found his form of success in the world.
