The resort town of Taba in Egypt came under a rocket attack on the night of October 27. According to the Egyptian publication Asharq, the rocket fell “in the area of the ambulance station and the administrative building next to the city hospital.” The military determines where the missile was launched from. Taba is located almost on the border with Israel, not far from the Israeli resort town of Eilat.
The Egyptian Ministry of Health noted that six of the wounded received minor injuries. Four of them left the hospital after receiving assistance. There were no tourists among the victims.
Having learned about this emergency, people on social networks express their opinion about the danger of holidays at Egyptian resorts and remind that the popular Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada are far from Taba.
Moreover, literally a few hundred meters from the Egyptian-Israeli border there are more than a dozen popular tourist complexes. On the Egyptian side, among them are Dessole Holiday, Hotel & Casino Taba Sands, The Bayview Taba Heights Resort, Tobya Boutique Resort, Swiss Inn Dream Resort.
There are many hotels in the border area of Israel. These include Orchid Eilat, Herbert Samuel Royal Shangri-La and Herbert Samuel The Reef Eilat, The Coral Beach Pearl.
Tourists often choose a holiday in Taba to be able to visit the sights of Israel, as well as get through it to Jordan. A ferry runs from the port of Taba to the Jordanian resort of Aqaba.
