Another European country has refused to allow tourists to its beaches without evidence of “cow safety”, effectively going against the general trend of ending the pandemic, thus ruining the holidays of thousands of tourists, shattering their hopes.
This is Spain – the country has suddenly extended the vaccination qualification for at least a month – until June 15. This ruined the holidays of thousands of tourists – especially Europeans and Britons, who hoped to spend their holidays in early summer on the beaches of the kingdom without any annoying obstacles.
The reason is that the Spanish authorities have become concerned about the level of coronavirus infection. According to the World Health Organization, 66,000 new cases of Covid disease have been reported in Spain in the last seven days, compared to almost 77,000 a week in the UK, which attracts tourists to Spanish beaches.
And they are afraid to let infected tourists into the country. Evidence of vaccination or other human safety is still required for entry. At the same time, tourists from third countries clearly need a vaccination certificate or a certificate of recovery recognized by the European Union. Adolescents from 12 to 18 years of age are allowed to enter by PCR test. Travelers from the EU or the EEA need a vaccination certificate, a certificate of recovery or a negative test result 72-48 hours before arrival in Spain.
Experts note that in this way, Spain may once again lose in the competition – while other countries surrender and remove anti-antiquity rules. Of the European resort countries, Greece and Cyprus have already done so – letting tourists in without any paedemic requirements.
