According to the SchengenVisaInfo portal, the Netherlands lifted its veto on Bulgaria’s accession to the Schengen zone.
Previously, the Netherlands blocked Bulgaria’s admission to Schengen for a long time, citing the fact that this country did not meet the established criteria.
A recent report by the European Commission indicates that there are no obstacles to Bulgaria’s entry into the Schengen area.
“We have established that Bulgaria has carried out all the necessary constitutional reforms, and based on this we can conclude that it meets all the requirements for accession to Schengen,” the Dutch parliament said.
The last country that does not support Bulgaria’s accession to the Schengen area is Austria.
