Amusement parks and theme parks are becoming one of the most popular places for tourists around the world. Millions of travelers, both adults, and children, from different parts of the planet, strive here. DIP will tell you which parks were the most visited in 2021.
Analyst company Statista studied the attendance of the most popular amusement and theme parks in the world in 2021.
It turned out that the first place in the ranking was the Walt Disney World Recreation Center. This amusement park was visited by over 12 million people in 2021, making it the most visited amusement park in the world.
The park was created by Walt Disney and designed by WED Enterprises. Its layout and rides are based on California Disneyland and are themed around Disney fairy tales and characters. Now about 66 thousand people work in the park. The park is represented by Cinderella’s castle, inspired by the fairy tale castle featured in the 1950 film.
At the same time, Walt Disney World, and all other leading theme parks in the world, experienced a sharp drop in attendance in 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Before the pandemic, in 2019, more than 20 million people visited this park, and in 2020, the most “coronavirus” year, only 6 million people came to the park.
