The famous tourist exhibition, the Berlin ITB will not take place for the third year in a row. The reason is the spread of coronavirus and restrictions adopted in Europe. According to a statement on the exhibition’s website, ITB Berlin 2022 will once again be held in digital format, although the organizers hoped that the main European tourism event would be launched in person.
But this will not happen again. All mass events have been canceled until the beginning of March in Berlin. And ITB Berlin 2022 is also banned. The reason for this is the situation with the coronavirus and first of all the strain “Omicron”, which got out of control.
“It is with great sadness that we have to inform you today that our face-to-face meeting will not take place as originally planned. The Berlin authorities have taken this step due to restrictions on travel, exacerbated by the coronavirus epidemic, and restrictions on the number of major events. We have made every effort to organize ITB Berlin as a personal event: in our time, the industry especially needs guidance, inspiration and dialogue. But the exhibition will be held online, “said the organizers of the exhibition.
At the same time, online they promise a wide range of exciting content and new business opportunities. In addition, it is hoped that next year – that ITB Berlin will return in March 2023 in the format of a face-to-face event. It is scheduled to open on March 8 at the Berlin Exhibition Center.
Note that ITB Berlin was one of the first exhibitions canceled in the coronavirus 2020 in early March. In 2021 the exhibition was held online.
