A pleasure helicopter carrying five people crashed during a sightseeing flight near Halong Bay in Quang Ninh province, E.VNexpress.net reports.
The Bell 505 helicopter belonged to the state-owned North Vietnam Helicopter Company. The pilot and four tourists were on board at the time of the crash.
According to the publication, on April 5, the helicopter made a scheduled air tour, which lasts from 10 to 30 minutes and cost from 106 to 303 dollars. It took off from Tuan Chau Island in Quang Ninh Province at 16:56 and lost radio signal at 17:15 local time.
At 19:18, a group of servicemen found two bodies next to parts of the fuselage, presumably from the crashed helicopter. Rescuers are currently looking for three more people.
It is noted that the helicopter was relatively new – in 2018 it was assembled in the United States, and 2019 it was imported to Vietnam.
