The flight attendants on the Reddit forum named the most comfortable and cleanest seat in economy class, which should be booked first for a flight. It turned out that it has several advantages that make it special – the most comfortable and cleanest compared to the rest.
This seat is in a rare location where no one else is sitting directly in front, providing extra legroom and in-flight comfort. Flight attendants call it the best seat on the plane and prefer to sit in it themselves during their flights. On the forum, flight attendants posted photos showing their legs stretched forward from their seats. In addition, the crew noted that this place is also one of the cleanest on board because there is no chair close to the front and it is easier for cleaners to clean it.
However, as it turned out, not all tourists have the right to occupy seats near the emergency exit, despite its comfort. The reason is that in the event of an emergency, the exit must be available for quick evacuation. Therefore, the rules of civil aviation prohibit the accommodation of the following categories of tourists next to emergency exits:
- Passengers with physical or mental disabilities or disabilities, if it is difficult for them to move quickly.
- Travelers who have severe visual or hearing impairments that may make it difficult for them to respond quickly to instructions.
- Tourists who, due to age or illness, find it difficult to move quickly.
- Children, accompanied or unaccompanied, and infants. It is more convenient for them to sit in the seats at the beginning of the row.
- Passengers traveling with animals, such as guide dogs.
- Smooth travelers. Every year, tourists “grow” in volume, and airlines are thinking about how to further reduce the volume of seats in the economy classes of their airliners. Carriers do not want to provide comfort for passengers of all sizes, as this would become an additional cost item.
