The director of a Thai travel agency stabbed a tourist who wanted to return the money for a failed tour. A Chinese family made a 5,000 baht deposit with Blue Ocean Travel for a day trip to the Similan Islands with hotel pickup. At the appointed time the next day, no one came for the tourists – an hour later it turned out that they had mixed up the hotel.
Guests from the Middle Kingdom canceled the tour and demanded a refund, but were refused. According to them, the head came to the hotel. In a fit of anger, she kicked the tourist and cut her hand with a knife. During the conversation, the tourists had a phone in their hands, and part of the conflict that took place turned out to be on a video that they posted on social networks.
After the incident, the victims contacted the police. Law enforcement officers negotiated with the head of the travel agency, and the money was returned. However, this outcome did not suit the guests of the kingdom – their offender was not charged. After that, according to Thai media, an investigation into the case was launched. The defendant maintains that she acted in self-defense. Now Wiri Sawangwit faces jail time and a fine. The company’s license has been suspended for 6 months.
