The index of the best passports for travel in 2023 is traditionally presented by the Henley Passport Index. The “ideal” passport in this sense remains the Japanese passport for the fifth year — it gives the right to visit 193 of the 227 countries presented in the ranking without a visa. The “silver” went to tourists from South Korea and Singapore, and most European countries are in the “ten”. The Ukrainian passport lost one position in the ranking and took 36th place — 118 countries are now available to our tourists without a visa. The outsiders have also not changed – Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria.
So, the Top 10 countries, according to this rating, look like this:
- Japan – 193 visa-free countries.
- Singapore and South Korea are 192 countries.
- Germany and Spain 190 countries
- Finland, Italy, and Luxembourg 189 countries
- Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden 188 countries,
- France, Ireland, Great Britain, and Portugal 187 countries
- Belgium, Czech Republic, Norway, New Zealand, Switzerland, USA 186 countries
- Australia, Canada, Greece, and Malta 185 countries
- Hungary and Poland 184 countries
- Lithuania and Slovakia 183 visa-free countries
Ukraine is in 36th place, dropping one row and sharing it with Panama and Macau. Taiwan is ahead of us by one point, and Paraguay is one point behind. By the way, Turkey is popular among Ukrainians – in 52nd place, with visa-free entry to 110 countries. The occupiers are in the 49th place.
