A flight from Angola to Portugal hit a zone of severe turbulence, and a video from the cabin of the aircraft hit social networks. The media write that the incident occurred on March 23, a flight of the Portuguese airline Hi Fly got into a difficult situation.
According to the Daily Mail, 10 passengers have injured on board the aircraft, and the video was published by Brazilian blogger Diana Assis, who also flew this flight from Luanda to Lisbon.
“The passenger shared the footage with subscribers, as a result of shaking her wine spilled over the ceiling and floor of the cabin, and the aisles were littered with food, trays, and plastic appliances.
The screams of passengers can also be heard behind the scenes, as some of them were seriously injured. In one of the shots, you can see a plastic tray wedged into a crack in the ceiling,” the video, filmed right at the epicenter of events, describes the publication.
According to the blogger, she was horrified by “her first international flight.” Diana also said that the shaking started two hours after takeoff, just as the flight attendants were serving lunch.
“The girl at first took the turbulence as a joke and giggled, but when the plane began to vibrate, her laughter suddenly broke off.
“It lasted only a few seconds, but it was enough for several people to be seriously injured. The crew had to provide first aid to the victims even before landing,” the girl said about the experience.
One of the victims was a baby who flew out of his mother’s arms and hit the ceiling.
“This episode forced the captain to announce the need for a doctor’s help on the speakerphone,” the publication continues its narrative. Many passengers also showed symptoms of severe anxiety during the examination. Reportedly originated while the aircraft was flying over the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
According to official figures, 8 passengers applied for medical assistance at the Lisbon airport, and one of the wounded was assisted by a doctor on board.
