The rules for entering Thailand are simplified. Following the cancellation of the Thailand Pass, the country’s authorities exempt foreigners from providing another document, BangkokPost reports.
From July 2nd, those entering the Kingdom of Thailand are temporarily exempted from the need to fill out the TM6 immigration form. Prime Minister and Defense Minister Prayut Chan-Ocha believe this will shorten entry times for foreign visitors and reduce congestion as international arrivals have increased.
Traisuri Deputy Government Spokesperson Taisaranakul clarified that foreign travelers entering Thailand by land or sea will still be required to fill out a form.
The elimination of TM6 forms is expected to save about 45.5 million baht on the printing of 65 million paper forms per year. At the same time, the immigration police will collect data through biometric systems at airports and from airlines.
From July 1, only a vaccination certificate or a coronavirus test result for the unvaccinated is required to enter Thailand. The cancellation of the Thailand Pass (a web-based system for travelers in which you need to enter your travel and health data before arriving in the country) and compulsory insurance for vacationers come into force.
