The Thai government is being urged to quickly legalize casinos, including for guests of the country. Representatives of one of the parties came up with such an initiative.
In their opinion, one of the first casinos should invariably be built in a tourist area. Among the promising ones are Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, Chiang Mai… Well, as a last resort, Bangkok.
It is proposed to spend 280 billion baht on a network of legal casinos in the kingdom. These establishments, deputies are confident, will increase the country’s income from tourism. And they will allow a large amount of money to be brought out of the underground – there are still illegal establishments. At least the locals play them.
Some tourists are not averse to diversifying their holiday in Thailand with gambling. However, some believe that the conversation will not go further than public statements by representatives of one or another political force for the sake of their rating: “This is just empty talk of deputies.”
