Storm washes up thousands of boots on Danish beaches

According to the Danish television channel DR, storm Pia washed up thousands of shoes on the beaches in northern Denmark. This happened after a Maersk ship lost 46 containers of goods due to bad weather.

It is clarified that the Mayview vessel, traveling from Bremerhaven, Germany to Gdansk, Poland, was caught in a storm in the North Sea on December 22.

According to Coast Surveyor Tosmas Duurloo, “It’s crazy. There are thousands of shoes lying around.” In addition to shoes, which make up the majority of goods found on the shores, medical equipment and small wheels for wheelbarrows were also found on the beaches.

Storm Pia hit the Netherlands and led to rising water levels and the closure of all storm barriers in the country for the second time in history. The Norwegian cruise ship Maud, which was sailing in the North Sea, began to experience problems with handling due to damage received during Storm Pia.

British Airways has canceled more than 20 flights ahead of Christmas due to bad weather in the UK.
