Travelers planning to visit Northern and Western Europe for the winter holidays are advised to be prepared for severe cold and snowfall, which has already hit several countries.
Frosty weather has already started to cause disruptions in transport in some countries of Northern Europe, and in some places, airports were forced to cancel flights. In particular, many flights were canceled the other day in Great Britain due to low temperatures.
Other countries such as Poland, France, and Finland are also experiencing transport disruptions due to the cold temperatures.
In particular, blizzards on the territory of Poland led to large-scale disruptions in transport. Considering the threat of snowfall, the Institute of Meteorology of Poland advised citizens to be careful when entering regions affected by heavy snow.
France has also been affected by the frost, so the country’s government recently issued a snow and ice warning, putting only 28 departments on high alert. During the week in France, an average of two to five centimeters of snow is expected across the country.
Harsh weather conditions also affected Finland and other Scandinavian countries. Earlier this week, southern areas of Finland were hit by strong winds and snowfall. Considering the current situation in the country, the authorities of Helsinki warned motorists against non-essential trips.
