A shocking incident occurred in the United States: 72-year-old Ronald Clifton contacted the emergency service and said that he was attacked by a zebra, reports the New York Post.
According to the source, the man in a dialogue with the dispatcher asked to send help immediately.
“I think she ripped off my arm … Send a helicopter,” Clifton was quoted as saying by the media after the incident in Pickaway County, Ohio.
In addition to the story, the resource adds a video: deputies of the local sheriff arrived at the scene and tried to help the tourist, who was lying on the ground.
When one of them tried to park his car between Clifton and a zebra, a large male rushed to the driver’s side. The only thing that could subdue the hostile beast was a siren and an air horn.
“The video shows how a police officer rushed to rescue Clifton, whose arm was bloodied below the elbow. The beast almost tore off the man’s arm. One of the assistants applied a tourniquet and brought the victim to the ambulance, while another deputy followed the hostile zebra.
The territory worker suggested that the police put the zebra to sleep, and members of the Clifton family warned that it was impossible to turn your back on the zebra. Judging by the shocking footage from the body camera of one of the employees of the station, the zebra began to aggressively walk toward the policeman. This is understandable: the only male in the herd protected the females.
The source adds that the police shot the zebra after it continued its aggressive behavior.
