The authorities of Malaysia and Saudi Arabia have announced simplification of the rules for the entry of foreign tourists. First of all, the relaxations affected the quarantine upon the arrival of travelers, Dip.org.ua reports with reference to local media.
Saudi Arabia
According to the Saudi Gazette, Saudi Arabia has already lifted the latest restrictions inside the country, including maintaining social distancing and wearing masks outdoors.
Upon arrival in the kingdom, vaccinated foreign tourists will no longer be required to undergo mandatory quarantine for COVID-19. Travelers will also no longer need to take a second PCR test upon arrival. The following vaccines are approved in the country: Pfizer, Sinopharm (Vero Cell), Sinovac (CoronaVac). Unvaccinated travelers can fly to Saudi Arabia but must undergo a five-day quarantine at their own expense. This travel option can be booked through the airline they are flying with up to 72 hours before departure.
Malaysia
Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yacob has announced that the country will open its borders from April 1 to vaccinated foreigners. The decision is due to the high vaccination rate and the low workload of hospital beds with coronavirus patients. The country also has a low number of severe cases of the disease.
From April 1, fully vaccinated tourists will no longer need to quarantine upon entering Malaysia. But two days before the trip, they must take a PCR test and be retested within 24 hours of arrival. The following drugs are recognized in the country: Pfizer, Sinopharm (Vero Cell), Sinovac (CoronaVac). Before departure, you will no longer need to apply on the My Travel Pass platform. The use of masks in public places remains mandatory, and foreigners must also download and use the special My Sejahtera mobile application in the country.
The internal rules in Malaysia are also changing: all remaining restrictions on the opening hours and capacity of businesses, places of worship and public events will be lifted.
