“For Russians – a ban, Russians are not allowed to board, ” is how the Düsseldorf airport justified the refusal to board FinnAir for five passengers with Russian passports. Such information was provided to “Fontants” by an eyewitness of the events.
According to him, he arrived at the airport with two friends, all of whom were planning to fly out. At the same time, both have residence permits in Germany. They bought plane tickets to Helsinki. Two more victims were a woman with a child who flew via Helsinki to Tyumen for non-tourist purposes. All of them were deployed at the stage of registration and baggage claim.
“They said that under the new law, Russians are not imprisoned. Which was not specified. Since there is no representative of “Finnair” at Dusseldorf Airport, we called the police. While the police were driving, they called the carrier’s hotline. They didn’t help, they promised to return the money,” said the Russian. However, the police did not help either. “That’s how they said directly: ‘We understand, but it’s forbidden for Russians,'” the victim said. As a result, everyone decided to go through Turkey.
Most likely, the publication’s experts note, this is a consequence of the fact that Finland banned the entry of Russian tourists from September 30. However, the decision was made only for Russians traveling for tourism. Moreover, it is stated separately that Finland also has no intention of preventing the return of Russian citizens to Russia through Finland. However, all things considered, the Russians were dealt with.
According to the statements of the Finnish Border Guard, since the ban came into force, border traffic has dropped 8 times compared to last Saturday at the Finnish border. A total of 1,285 Russians managed to cross it. More than 400 Russians were refused entry. At the same time, we note that property owners will also be denied access — unless they can document a reason for the visit related to the care or maintenance of the property.
