At the attractions of Antalya, Russian tourists in Turkey have been replaced: the new desired guests who spend the most money have been named. As Haydar Gyumrukcu, CEO of Olympos Teleferik, the longest cable car in Antalya, told the Turkish publication Turizm Guncel, Polish and British vacationers filled the gap left by the loss of Russian tourists.
“Russian tourists did not spend the expected amount due to the falling ruble,” he said. Gyumrukchu also presented statistics — that this year 175,000 people reached the top using the Olympos Teleferik and explained this about the replacement of the Russians.
“Other markets fill the gap from the Russian market. For example, Poles and Britons, as well as guests from Eastern Europe, began to arrive en masse. Due to the economic situation in Russia, that is, the position of the ruble, the Russians who come do not spend much money, they sit in hotels and do not go out, and we feel this too. And even those who come to us do not spend the desired amount on food, drinks, and other entertainment,” he added.
It should be noted that the Olympos cable car to the top of Takhtala is a symbol of Kemer. It is the longest cable car in Europe and the second longest in the world. The cable car ride between the lower station and the top of Mount Takhtala takes about 12 minutes. On the way, tourists have the opportunity to see the scenery of Phaselis and the ancient city of Olympos, as well as Antalya and Kemer.
