Rome Airport introduces new passenger service

Passengers departing from Fiumicino Airport will now be able to choose their own time to go through security and take their seats in a separate fast lane.

Rome-Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci International Airport launches innovative QPass service. It will give passengers the opportunity to better plan their journey and comfortably go through all the necessary procedures at checkpoints.

QPass is a free service that allows passengers to sign up for a specific time and use a particular passage and a separate queue at the checkpoint. Access to the service is simple and does not require any registration: the passenger can book a time without leaving home or even at the airport, starting 7 days before departure. On a special website, you must enter your flight number, the number of passengers, and your email address.

Next, the system will prompt you to select a specific time from those available for recording. As soon as the booking is completed, a QR code and a confirmation letter with information about the terminal and the time of the procedures will be sent to the specified e-mail address.

It remains only to arrive at the selected time at the QPass entrance, show your QR code and get access to the dedicated entrance, and queue for a quick and comfortable security check.

Fiumicino is the first airport in Italy to offer this service. It is available in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. The QPass service is free and is in addition to other ways to get through security: Fast Track premium service, lines for families with prams, and “traditional” through the general queue.

Thanks to this system, passengers can now organize their time before departure, quickly pass security checks, and thus have more time for themselves, for example, to go shopping or have a bite to eat before boarding.
