Qatar Airways’ first plane lands on the Greek island of Santorini

Qatar Airways has added a new flight to Santorini. Passengers can now reach the famous Greek island from over 150 destinations via Doha’s Hamad International Airport.

In time for the holiday season, Qatar Airways is making it easier for its customers to spend their holidays in Greece by launching a new flight to Santorini (JTR) three times a week and resuming flights to Mykonos (JMK).

The first flight from Doha to Santorini took place on Tuesday 7 June. An Airbus A320 with 12 business class seats and 132 economy seats landed at Santorini International Airport for the first time.

The airline marked this event with the creation of a special in-flight menu. It is designed with traditional Greek cuisine in mind, with specially designed cutlery for all passengers and an illustrated menu card for business class customers. Passengers were presented with holiday cupcakes.

Santorini is the third Qatari destination in Greece after Athens and Mykonos.

Seasonal flights to Mykonos resumed on June 3, scheduled four frequencies weekly, Qatar Airways will fly to Athens twice a day, taking into account the interests of both business passengers and tourists.

Qatar Airways continues its flexible booking policy, passengers can change travel dates and destinations unlimited times, and receive free refunds for all tickets departing before September 30, 2022.

Passengers flying to and from Santorini will also benefit from increased baggage allowances of up to 35 kg in Economy Class and 40 kg with an additional two pieces of carry-on baggage in Business Class.
