The “cultural program” in Istanbul will begin to “bite” from 01.01.24 – museums and other attractions have sharply raised prices, especially for foreign tourists. As a result, many people will not be able to afford such a cultural vacation.
As reported by the Turkish mass media, from the beginning of next year, the entrance fee to the main tourist attractions, which are under the authority of the Department of Museology and Popularization of the National Palaces Department, will increase sharply. Especially the prices for foreign tourists will increase – in Turkey, the prices for foreigners are significantly more expensive. For the most part, the price increase will affect the popularity among tourists – both independent and organized – combined tickets, which allow you to see the main attractions in one trip.
So, the price of a combined ticket to Topkapi Palace (Topkapi Palace + Harem), which used to cost 950 Turkish lira for foreign visitors, will increase to 1500 lira. Not every tourist is ready to pay for a cultural program. At the same time, only the ticket to the Harem for foreign tourists will increase from 350 to 500 lira.
Similarly, the prices of other combined tickets that allow tourists to visit most of Istanbul’s attractions will also increase. Their price will be from 1200 to 1400 lira for foreigners. So, most likely, the excursion “component” of the rest of the tourists in Turkey will significantly decrease.
