Philippine’s authorities have apologized for the accidental closure of airspace for the New Year.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and the Department of Transportation DOTr took full responsibility for this misunderstanding.
It is specified that thousands of passengers were stuck at the country’s largest airport in the capital Manila on January 1 after the airspace was closed.
The crash affected about 65,000 passengers whose flights were either canceled or delayed.
