An American Airlines flight en route from Columbus to Phoenix caught fire and the aircraft made an emergency landing, CNN reports.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the cause of the fire was a bird caught in the engine.
“After the incident, it was decided to make an emergency landing at John Glenn Columbus International Airport, where the fire was quickly extinguished, and a video of the emergency landing hit Twitter. Dramatic footage shows sparks flying from the wing of the plane,” the source writes.

“The plane landed safely and taxied to the boarding gate under its power. The Boeing 737 was taken out of service for maintenance.
At the moment, our team is working to deliver passengers to Phoenix,” American Airlines said in a statement.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident, but no casualties have yet been reported.
