The heat intensified on the Antalya coast of Turkey. Moreover, so much so that now tourists do not have the opportunity to cool off in the Mediterranean Sea, since the temperature of the seawater at the resorts of Turkey exceeded the air temperature and reached +31°C.
At the same time, the thermometer column measuring the air temperature is confidently holding on to the +30°C mark. In the week from August 15 to 21, forecasters warned of an increase in air temperature to +33°C, which will occur closer to the weekend. From Monday to Friday afternoon, the heat will stay +30°C. At night – at least 26°C. In the next 10 days, a slight decrease in seawater temperature in Antalya is expected – up to +29.4°C.
At the same time, air humidity also increased significantly, reaching 70 percent. Local and foreign vacationers, tired of the heat, go to the world-famous beach of Konyaalta in the morning in an attempt to relax in the seawater, although without much success.
According to data for 10 years, the average water temperature in August in Antalya was +29.3°С, the minimum – +28.2°С, and the maximum +31°С. In winter, the temperature on the coast of the country’s main resort stays on average at +18.3°С, in spring – +18.8°С, in summer – +27.5°С, in autumn – +25.4°С. The bathing season in Antalya lasts from May to December.
