A South Korean tourist was shot in Thailand by a resident in Pattaya because of loud noise, reports The Thaiger.
According to the source, the incident occurred at night – the South Korean tourist was drunk.
“The crime drama unfolded around 4 a.m. in a grocery store selling oriental food in the central area of Thailand’s largest tourist city. According to witnesses to the crime, 47-year-old Korean citizen Namil Kim was drunk and rowdy that early morning. He screamed and disturbed others,” the newspaper writes.
According to the Bangkok Post, one of the visitors who was sitting nearby became angry, drew a firearm, and fired two shots. One bullet hit the leg of a noisy tourist, and the second hit the leg of a passing motorcyclist.
The shooter fled the scene, and The Thaiger reports that police found two 9mm shell casings at the crime scene.
The law enforcement agencies informed that the incident was filmed by a surveillance camera in the store and the police put the criminal on the wanted list.
According to local media, this is the second shooting incident in Pattaya in the past two months.
In January, the nephew of the former deputy mayor of Pattaya shot and killed a Briton during a traffic incident. A 32-year-old man named Apichat killed 71-year-old Neil Roger after a motorcyclist honked at him.
