No HES codes, no PCR tests: Turkey removes covid barriers for tourists

Tourists will no longer need to obtain a HES code before traveling to Turkey.

The HES (Hayat Eve Sığar) application was introduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It allows you to track the movements of people registered in the corresponding electronic system. Earlier, on March 2, HES codes were canceled for Turkish citizens, but now the relaxation applies to foreign travelers. They needed the code when checking into hotels, visiting shopping centers, theaters, open areas for mass events, and using public transport.

In addition, the rule for unvaccinated tourists to present the result of a PCR test when traveling between Turkish provinces has been abolished.
