Analytical company Euromonitor published a hundred cities in the world that were most popular among tourists in 2022, DIP reports concerning Unian.net.
This year, the leading positions went to Europe – 40 European cities were included in the rating.
At the same time, the capital of France, Paris, topped the top 100 for the second year in a row, while the top 10 as a whole included eight cities in Europe. Analysts attribute this primarily to the availability of travel within Europe, the easing of COVID restrictions, and the restoration of international travel.
When compiling the rating, six criteria were taken into account: tourism policy, sustainable development, infrastructure, health, safety, and economic performance.

The Asian region has shown mixed results regionally due to coronavirus-related travel restrictions. In pre-coronavirus times, Asian destinations dominated the top of the list, followed by Hong Kong and Bangkok.
