Egyptian authorities are preparing for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
The project to create this museum required an investment of $ 1 billion, which makes it currently the most expensive cultural institution in the world.
According to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the opening ceremony of the GEM will be “grand and legendary.” The first people from foreign countries will be invited to it.
Even though the opening date of the museum has not yet been announced, the cost of tickets is known: for residents – 60 Egyptian pounds, and for foreigners – 200 pounds.
The Great Egyptian Museum covers an area of 300,000 sq. m, it will be one of the largest in the world. The museum is located next to the Great Pyramids of Giza.
